Social Media Club, a special interest group of marketing professionals interested in social media, is launching a Chicago chapter. A kickoff event at the Pepper Canister, 509 N. Wells Street, is planned for Thursday October 30 from 5:30 - 7:30 PM.

Ironically I have to miss this event because I am going to an event hosted by MySpace. Nonetheless, it is about darn time this is happening and I am glad to see more opportunities for the Chicago Tech community (it DOES exist) to get together.
